Malkah Bird has been teaching young children and their families since 2002. She is dedicated to creating and nurturing, play and exploration-based, child-centered learning environments. In 2015, she started the Meridian Hills Forest Kindergarten, the first Forest Kindergarten program in Indianapolis. Malkah has been overjoyed to partner with and learn from the educators at the White Pine Wilderness Academy. Alongside teaching, Malkah also provides trainings and coaching for parents and educators on relationship-based approaches to discipline and play-based learning. Malkah holds an undergraduate degree in Geology from Smith College and a Master’s in Education from the University of Pittsburgh. She is currently working on a degree in School Psychology at Indiana University.
